How hard is the sitar to learn to play? I am always interested in adding new stringed instruments to my repertoire. I've learned to play the banjo, bouzouki, and lute so far, and this looks interesting.

It sure is. Sitar and veena are actually meant to be played by both sexes. In the Vedic scriptures veena was played by both Narada Muni (male) and Devi Saraswati (female). Sitar is a descendant of the veena so the same rules apply. :) |
